Load Management Strategies The Model 5810 adds ATS loads until the user-config ured threshold is momentarily exceeded, then removes the last ATS added. This strategy offers simple set-up and operation. Before connecting an ATS, the Model 5850 compares available generator capacity to the expected size of the next load, preventing transfers that could exceed overload thresholds. This strategy offers sophisticated control and precise load management.

Some circumstances could require facilities to force loads off-line or on-line, despite their assigned priority. All 5800 Series models enable users to manually force loads off of the Emergency source and allow supervised requests to connect loads to the Emergency source, regardless of assigned priority.

The ASCO 5850 Load Management Units can cycle individual loads onto and off of Emergency sources for user-defined periods. This allows capacity to sequentially serve multiple loads, providing power to each ATS for a user-defined interval.
