Due Diligence Before Creating a New Account

Search Existing Accounts • Check thoroughly in the system (over 11,000 accounts) to see if the account already exists. • Use key identifiers like name, address, dBA names • Check for spaces between abbreviations, punctuation etc If Address Is Different • Assume the account may have moved. • Update the address on the existing account with credit - do not create a new one. If Name Has Changed • Investigate if it’s due to a merger (especially common with distributors and Engine Generator Dealers) • Update the name on the existing account with credit - again, avoid duplication. Be sure to use the new form. You must supply the bFO Golden ID account number and get approvals of your business justification. eBiz can help you with the bFO account number.
