ASCO FEATURE
Jen Rosero is an Engineering Manager for ASCO Power Technologies. In her free time, she challenges herself by taking part in obstacle course racing with family and friends. She’s been at it since 2012 when she participated in her first Spartan race with fellow ASCO colleagues.
What is Obstacle Course Racing? It is a sport where people can challenge themselves physically and mentally individually or as a team to get through carrying logs, mud pits, rope climbs, and other similar hurdles. What I like about it: • Feeling accomplished after reaching the finish line. I like the grit and determination it takes to get that medal in the end. • The camaraderie in the team is also rewarding. Everyone is super motivating and encouraging. We all want to see everyone finish the race be it in one hour or three. Finishing the race is an accomplishment in itself. Challenges: • Building up your stamina for the race • Finding the time to go for a run or exercise can be difficult during the week with work and family activities. You have to commit and set a time to prepare. Otherwise, you may get injured during the race.
